Around the City (Open)

Emira was walking down the streets of Death quiet nonchalantly as she took a deep breath in. She was feeling rather exhausted from a mission she had been on the day before. It was almost nighttime, and the moon was beginning to show itself, laughing at the town below. Emira stretched her arms out, looking around, feeling slightly unconfident. She felt as though she was being watched. As she walked, she had found herself in a narrow alleyway, which lead back toward the main Town area.

"You could get yourself in a lot of trouble, walking alone in an alleyway, don't you know that?" A soft, familiar voice spoke coolly from behind.

Emira's eyes widened as she stopped in her tracks, turning around, gasping from the surprise. She hadn't expected that, but only turned to see a boy with dark purple hair and a bright red vest. Exzavier. She wiped her forehead, glaring slightly.

"Don't scare me like that. It makes me nervous when I don't have you around to keep me company," she laughed awkwardly.

Exavier smirked at her with gentle eyes as he walked toward her with both his hands crossed. He gave her a different look before shaking his head to follow him. As he began walking, Emira followed. The two stayed quiet for most of the way there, but then Exzavier stopped himself. Emira tilted her head in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Exzavier exhaled, "We're being followed."

A figure was lurking in the shadows around death city. A cold expression on his features as his crimson orbs watched over the city. The figure leapt into the air a long black robe fluttering in the air as he landed on a roof top in a crouched position. He looked down at the streets noticing a young girl walking by herself. he raised an eyebrow as he followed her carefully. His weapon was away on business. he soon heard a voice that scared the girl slightly only for her to calm down and glare at the owner of the voice a young boy.

He followed them moving through the shadows unseen and unheard. he watched them as they stayed quiet for some time only for the boy to stop and say they were being followed. The crimson eyed man would've chuckled so he knew he was there huh. Well he wans't trying to hard to hide his prescence. He crouched on top of a roof looking down at the two waiting to see if they would pin point his location or call him out. He was curious as to see which one was the Meister and which one was the weapon and what abilities they had.

Emira stayed quiet as she looked around, unsure what to expect. Someone following them? She quickly breathed in as she looked to Exzavier, who was eyeing the alleyway around them. His eyes then locked with hers for a moment, "Don't get so uptight, we're in Death City, nothing here is as dangerous as out there, you know that," he frowned at her, "What's with you today? You're not normally like this."

Emira shrugged as she sighed, "Just not feeling well," she spoke solemnly before closing her eyes. Looking down, she exhaled, looking back up with a confident smirk, "Transform."

Exzavier sneered, happy to see her normalness return as he quickly transformed into a large scythe, Emira grabbing onto him quickly. She looked around, wondering where the follower was.

Do you see him, Emira? the scythe whispered to her.

"Not yet..." she murmured before getting impetient, "Hey, stranger, why don't you stop playing hide and go seek and show yourself already!"

A cold dark chuckle erupted from Makai's lips as he watched the boy transform into a scythe. His dark chuckle ran over the area as he slowly stood up in the path of the moon as she told him to come out of hiding. He laughed again as he stood in the path of the light. He leapt forward landing distance behind her. He was in a crouched positiuon his cloak covering his body as he slowly stood up. He stood up at his fulol height of 7'5 foot easilly towering over the two as he turned to face them.

His crimson orbs baring down upon her as all they could see were his eyes. His hat covered his face with his his collar.A another cold chuckle escaped his lips. he opened his mouth as a cold jet of air moved out of his lips as he slowly spoke in a cold chilling voice, 'Hm nice to meet you little miss Meister and Mister Weapon." he grinned as he looked at her and her weapon in his weapon form. He raised a hand his sleeve falling down revealing his pale white skin whiter than snow. He wanted to see how skilled she was in combat.

His hand moved to his side as his cloak fluttered open revealing the two wakizashi at his hip. he placed a hand on the hilt of one of his blades and crouched. He shot forward closing the distance between them. A click was heard as he drew his blade swinging it horizontally from its sheath to the right.

Emira's eyes widened as she turned quickly, and noticed the height of this man. She took a step back, gripping the hilt of her scythe tightly as she heightened her weapon. She eyed the man, observing his appearance and how he was reacting to their environment. She then kept her feet planted to the ground as she kept her weapon close, not wanting to make the first move. She knew that this man was most likely stronger than her, so she quickly made herself move backward, several feet away once more, to avoid any close-ranged sudden attacks she could of missed while she was off-guard.

Careful, Emira, this guy gives me a bad vibe. Don't fight him if you don't have to, avoid him at any cost, Exzavier sounded slightly hesitant.

"Just what I need," she spoke slightly, hiding her eyes behind her hair, "Someone who's actually a challange," she had a wide grin across her face, "Maybe you'll actually allow me to break a sweat? We'll see."

Exzavier's image appeared through the scythe, staring down at Emira with wide eyes, "Emira, everytime you do this, you flee, you have to stop taking these challanges!"

"Maybe when father sees my strength, I'll retire for a while. For now, I keep going," she locked her eyes with the man.

Makai gave a dark chuckle as he raced in. he appeared right in front of her. His wakziashi came zipping ouit., he kicked off the ground flying right over ehr head. He landed on a barel and jumped doing a back flip landing on a wall his blade impaled in the wall as he stood on it. A grin was on his face as he looked at her. His crimson orbs stared at her as he carefully studied her being. He chuckled again as he landed on the ground ripping his blade from the wall. He slowly twirled his wakizashi as he watched her. it seems she was going to just stand their waiting for him to actually strike her,

He grinned as he grabbed his hat tossing it off. His long spiked black hair flowed down his back held in a pony tail. A cold breeze blew by as his clock fluttered open. His cloak blew off and hit the ground. Cracks formed beneath the ground before the street beneath it broke. He cracked his neck as he looked at ehr. he was dressed in black silk trousers, a long black battle robe with chinese slippers. A second wakizashi on his hip, 'Normally i wouldn't remove my cloak but i feel like going all out."

His grin appeared as he vanished appearing right in front of her in a blink of an eye. He felt so much better with out that weighted cloak on. He swung his blade aiming at her chest. he had the edged blade facing her as he swung his blade on a diagonal slant from the bottom left to top right.

Emira stood there for that instance, unsure what to expect. When he had appeared on the wall in a different direction in such speed, her eyes widened as she bit her lip. Her hands clutched the hilt of her scythe hastily as she watched his every move. Then he had taken his cloak off, and she knew that he was deffinitely going to be hard to beat. She was unsure what to do when he had grinned so enthusiastically, but with a sinister feel, that she took a step back, pulling her weapon close again.

"Emira look out!" Exzavier screamed loudly as the man came swooping down, lunging for her chest. She gave out a large gasp as she quickly moved her scythe in front, blocking the attack quickly. She then glared at the man, feeling more angry. She quickly took a step forward before focussing her energy. She then ran quickly, jumping over him as she swung her scythe around him so that it would attack him from his front side, though he might turn around to find where she had gone, causing a distraction.

Makai watched her as she blocked the attack quickly glaring at him. he could see the anger in her eyes. Oh how stupid it was to be clouded by anger in battle it would always be the cause of your defeat. He watched as she stepped forward focusing her energy. She ran quickly jumping over him. He could hear her scythe coming around him to attack his front side. He held his wakizashi out blocking the attack. he threw the blade into the air and did a backwards roll. His hand touched the ground as he pushed himself up and started to spin his legs came flying out towards ehr as he pushed soul length into his legs for added strength to his attacks.

A figure in a purple Kimono was watching from a roof. His meister seemed to be in the battle with another meister. He had not long returned from a mission and handed in the report to Death-sama. He crouched on the roof watching with a bored expression. This kid was no match for his meister that match was certain.

Emira pulled her weapon back as she threw herself against the wall, watching him from several feet away. She observed his movement, understanding how he was fighting. She breathed in before trying to fight so hastily again, "Who are you, and why are you attacking me." she spoke firmly, holding her scythe high. She intended to get this information before going any further.

Makai gave a dark chuckle as he sensed his partner around. he looked to the girl as she spoke asking whom he was and why he was attacking her. he laughed as he jumped to his feet and grabbed his blade sheathing it. A dark smile spread over his features, 'Me i'm your worst nightmare! JUSHIRO!" The kimono wearing male dove to the ground landing in a crouched position. Makai held out a hand as jushiro glowed brightly. He leapt into the air and turned into a pair of long scimitar's a chain attached to them connecting them to each other. he grabbed the blades twirling them in his hands as he settled into a stance grinning from ear to ear. He flew forward at her, "SHOW ME YOUR SOUL!" he laughed as he flew in his blades tearing through the streets as he clsoed in on her. He skidded throwing one of the,. The chain vibrated as it flew through the air the tip of the swird aimed at her shoulder.

Emira saw as he began to close in on her and quickly leaped onto the roof of the building she was against. Running across the roof, she then dove down behind him, narrowing her eyes, "You want to see my soul? Here's a pretty good taste of it... Exzavier, soul resonance!"

"Right now!?" Exzavier's eyes widened.

"Yes, it doesn't look like we have many other choices at the moment," she glared at the man as she held onto Exzavier tightly, "Soul Resonance."

Exavier shook his head, but agreed as his weapon form began to glow brightly, a scythe appearing on the other end of the hilt, on both sides. Emira began spinning it like a baton as it started to gather purple energy, "Wind Scraper!" she screamed as she chucked her scythe in his direction. As the energy ball around him followed, it then released itself in the man's direction, the scythe coming back like a boomerage as it transformed back into its normal form. The energy ball continued to chase after the man at an intense and powerful speed as she watched intently. "The only other way, if you dodge this and still want to see my soul is for you to come over here and rip my chest open, you pig."

Makai grinned at her as he came to a stop shooting back as she spoke of using her Soul resonance. He grinned as her scythe glowed another blade. he watched a dark purple energy gather in the scythe as Emira spun it like a baton. He grinned as she chucked the scythe at him screaming 'wind scraper'. His eyes narrowed as he saw amn energy ball fllow behind the scythe as it flew towards him as the scythe flew back at Emira like a boomerang.

Makai slowly held his blades in front of them his soul energy rising, "Jushiro." The male nodded as he began to glow, 'SOul Resonance!" Their two souls began to fuse together as they began their soul resonance. Makai's eyes flew open glowing bright red as his blades began to fuse together. The chain shot up wrapping around his right arm as the two swords fused into a massive blade as tall as Makai.

The Meister grabbed the blade, 'Heaven's edge!" he whispere.d He swung the blade unelashing a large arc of soul enegy. The energy tore through the ground flying right into Emira's energy ball. The arc struck her blast expanding as energy washed over Death city as the alrge arc grew bigger in size and became more powerful as it collided with Emira's attack.

The impact from the attack of Makai's with Emira's caused it to erupt in a massive force that shook the ground from the collision. Emira felt herself fly backward against the wall, coughing as her eyes widened, dropping her scythe. She looked at the man who--even from afar--towered over her, feeling her heart racing.

That feeling... what... what is it? she put one hand to the hilt of her scythe and the other to her heart, Is that fear...?

Exzavier automatically felt what she was feeling and glared from the blade, staring at the man. He breathed heavily several times before looking back at Emira, "Emira, I know you're nervous. Remember, fear makes you stronger. It's okay to be afraid, just keep going. I know you can keep going."

Emira opened her eyes to the man as she got herself up, holding her scythe close, "I am afraid... but it is okay. All these top meisters and weapons thinking it's okay to pick on the smaller ones... heh, I guess we all have to grow up some time. And you obviously wanted a look at my soul... which you won't have time to do." she wiped the sweat from her face before having a serious expression. Immediately, she had appeared to of vanished, but had only flash stepped behind him, pushing the end of her hilt against his back with intense momentum that would be hard to miss. It would cause small damage in the end, but enough to shock the opponent.

Makai could see the fear inside her eyes. Fear was good he would show ehr fear to help her grow stronger. he watched as she suddenly vanished from sight. Makai easily tracked his movements. His blade spun as his chain spiralled around her scythe stopping her from pushing the hilt into his back,. He slkowly spoke as he held his chin tightly, 'Tut tut tut you'll have to do better than that.": He leapt up spinning over her,

he landed on the ground and shot forward. he grabbed his chain and pulled on it hard to make her lose her balance and be pulled towards him. As he shot forward his right foot touched the ground where he vanished appearing to her side. He vanished again appearing behind her then he vanished appearing to her left then he appeared at her front. he repeated this process rapidly appearing in front of her again. He pulled on his chain. Chains flew into the air and towards her they were aiming to wrap around her body and hold her in place.

Emira watched his movements quickly, seeing what he was doing. Quickly, she ducked, letting the chains wrap around her scythe blade as she twirled them around, pulling them forward to tug on Makai. She then hit the ground with them, releasing them from her blade as she jumped forward, eying him for a long moment. She then flashstepped once more, appearing behind him, but then in front of him, pulling her weapon back to punch him in the face, trying a new method.

Makai watched as she escaped his attack before flashing around him trying to get in front. He could follow her movements her speed was good but not good enough to get past him. he raised his pinkie blocking ehr fist with minimal effort. he looked at her as he shut his eyes. A strang black aurora encased him it was his soul wave. His soul began to appear behind him. His soul was pitch black with crimson red eyes with slits like his. It was laughing demonically as a red glow encased it. makai grinn as he ducked under her. His fist glowed as he threw a fist at her stomach.

"Wait.. what!?" Emira was confused that the soul had suddenly appeared. She hadn't moved quickly enough as a fist came flying into her stomach, sending her backwards into the brick wall, causing her to cough up blood. She fell to the ground, shocked and unsure what to do for a moment as she breathed in, staring up at him, seeing what he was going to do next before getting up to quickly.

Makai twirled his blades as he approached her. he looked down at her no emotion in his eyes. His soul laughing evilly as a look of a killer spread upon it. He gripped his blade, 'Hm you have talent. Your good but not good enough." he brought his blade down but only for it to peirce the ground beside her head. His soul vanished as the blades turned back into Jushiro. The weapon was crouched ebside his meister. makai looked at her, "better then most meisters i've fought against. Like i said you have talent kid. That fear in your eyes remember it. Try to over come it or else you;ll freeze up and that will be your undoing." He slowly held out a hand.

Emira's eyes grew smaller, into the back of her head as she felt more confused. Exzavier transformed back into human form as he stood, dumbstruck, his jaw dropped.

"...Wait... that was like a test?" Emira spoke, still puzzled as she scratched the back of her head.

"Wait, it could be a trap, if you're trying to win her trust, then you have another thing coming!" Exzavier scolded as his hands became scythe blades quickly.

makai looked down at her with a small smile on his features only for it to vanished within a secoind, 'I merely wanted to see how strong you were nothing else. Never expected you to be able to use your soul resonance like that though." he looked at the weapon as his arms turned into scythe blades. Jushiro stepped in front of his meister his right arm turning into a chain and blade spinning it in a deadly manner> he was glaring at Exzavier. makai placed a hand on his partners shoulder, 'Enough Jushiro."

The weapon nodded and his arm turned back to normal. Makai looked at her as she seemed to be confused about the entire ordeal, "I 've been testing students from the academy looking for someone whom to be able to pair up with on missions."

Emira felt herself grow nervous again, "Ahahah... Exzavier put those away before he actually decides to kill us," she spoke quietly and nervously. She then breathed out, letting the tension escape, "Well obviously you're going to have to look around more, I guess, because we didn't seem to stand a chance, haha..."

Exzavier grumbled, obviously angry that someone tricked them in such a way to get nervous about their lives like that. His hands transformed back to normal as he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms, looking away.

makai looked at her as she spoke. he emrey chuckled and waved to her as he stood up slowly dusting himself off, "It was never about if you would beat me or not. Unlike the others you stayed and fought most of the other students ran off. Or if they did fight they broke down crying from fear. You on the other hand continued to fight and you have a strong bond with your partner." He looked over at Exzavier, 'it's obvious he's very protective of you."

Emira and Exzavavier--despite his behaivior--both listened to what he had to say and she nodded. "Well... isn't that a weapons job? To protect their meister?" she shrugged, "I mean, we're friends, but it's still like a job..."

Exzaiver felt his heart sink slightly, "It's not just a job, Emira, you're my best friend too, ya know," he kept his arms crossed.

Emira nodded, "Yeah, but you're not really 'protective' of me, are you?"

Exzavier automatically ignored the question, looking away, laughing nervously.

makai looked at the two as they interacted. he could see the emotions in the boys eyes as she mentioned they were friends. So the boy felt something for his meister. Not unheard of most meisters and weapons feel for one another his parents were meister and weapon after all. He looked at the two of them as Exzavier laughed nervously. Makai cleared his throat to gain their attention, 'Anyway what do you say? How about coming along to assist me on misions now and then hm?" he looked her in the eyes.

Jushiro looked at his meister he wwould've said something but if his meister chose to bring a team along with them he wouldn't fight. he looked at Exzavier with a cold expression on his features.

Emira thought for a moment as she looked to Exzavier, "Well, it's your decision too, Zav... so tell me now if you want to or not."

Exzavier sighed, shaking his head, "Sure, maybe it will give us better missions," he pursed his lips.

Emira then looked back to Makai before pausing for a moment, "Alright then, sure, it's fine."
